It was Pure Noise. The satellites went dark, the networks died, and every device turned into a paperweight overnight. The modern internet era was overwhelmed by signal.
But the city goes on. The inhabitants of New Sterling are creating a new order from the ashes of the old. Send your crew on missions through the city to discover dozens of strange stories of the digital post-apocalypse.
Compound Interest is a strategy simulation game about carving out a successful enterprise from the unforgiving post-digital urban jungle. Build your reputation and cash-flow to make yourself indispensable, then use your power to remake New Sterling as you see fit.
Play as one of the factions vying for control across New Sterling's eight districts. Begin with simple jobs for cash and reputation, then offer to protect local businesses from vandals and rival crews.
Make allies and enemies as your influence grows. Move against other factions by attacking and robbing their hideouts. Who you work with, or against, decides what New Sterling becomes.
Find recruits, build multiple teams, and send the right people to the right job. Buy, find, or steal weapons to win a fight, or scare off the enemy before it ever starts.
Watch their health and morale. A disloyal crew member is a liability and a dead one is useless. Keep them happy at the bar, patch them up at the clinic, and pay the wages that come due every week.
Protection money is steady, but real wealth flows from the producers of the city's goods. Buy medicine, booze, electronics, and more in bulk to fulfill New Sterling's needs.
Or make tense exchanges with other factions, one hand on your weapon in case of a sudden betrayal.
Citizens, factions, and goods producers are fully simulated, each with their own daily routines and intentions. Set lookouts to watch the city in motion.
Learn the routines of a citizen to steal a big score. Track your enemies' movements and ambush them before they move in on your turf.

Lead Writer · Producer
I'm the lead writer and producer on Compound Interest, and a writer of tabletop roleplaying game modules, flash fiction, and short stories. I bring my background in organizational psychology and my passion for continental philosophy into my writing.
My writing often deals with meaning-making, organizational change, and grief, themes that run through the strange stories you'll uncover across New Sterling.
We bring a wide assortment of inspiration into Compound Interest: films about distrust and discomfort in society, books that overturned what we thought was possible, and genre-defining simulations and crime fiction.
